Mr. Strong is exactly that….strong!

Jerry served honorably in the US Army from July 1967-February 1969 in Vietnam, maintaining the generators that powered remote hilltop artillery fire bases of three to six big guns. These sites were subject to constant mortar and rocket harassment fire and daily combat assault, as they fired support missions for troops in the distant bush. After his return home, he worked locally as a landscaper for many decades until his retirement.

Jerry was referred to Habitat by a Veteran Support Service worker when it became apparent that the condition of his home was unsafe due to two deteriorating decks. With the help of Habitat volunteers and local Contractor James Billstine, Jerry can now safely leave his home via his newly built Ramps. The funding for this project was made possible through Home Depot and their dedication to serving our veteran population.

Thank a veteran by giving back in their time of need. Contact Habitat at 503-842-7472 to build alongside us. Every hand makes a difference!
