HABITAT FINISHES LANDSCAPING WITH MORELAND PRESBYTERIAN GROUP |

|
The Moreland Presbyterian Church group arrived on Saturday mid-day among the scattered rain drops on the Pickard Family Habitat home site in Bay City. The group had spent the day at their annual conference at the Friends Camp and elected to come and help Habitat during their free time in the afternoon. They spent the afternoon planting, raking out the yard for the last time before seeding, moving and spreading bark chips around the plants and yard. The landscaping was the final touch to the outside of the home which will be dedicated on November 12th. Habitat would like to invite everyone to come and participate in the dedication; the home is located at 9970 8th Place in Bay City the dedication starts at ll: 00 AM and then we will help the family unload their truck and prepare to spend their first night in their very own home. Thank you from the Pickard family and Habitat to all of our volunteers, donors, businesses, church groups and youth groups who have made it possible for this family to have a home. Dave Newton the group leader said “we had been looking for a way to make the Saturday afternoon segment of our annual conference more meaningful. I can’t tell you how inspired and enthusiastic our group was about having this opportunity. Putting Christian faith into action gets talked about a lot but to see God’s grace in action with your committed volunteer crew and your grateful homeowner and to be a small part of the process was thrilling.” The afternoon was filled with lots energy, laughter and good fellowship by all and the rain did not seem to matter or keep the group from completing the tasks at hand. The day ended with everyone knowing they had helped to provide the very first home for this family; a safe home for children and mom. Habitat for Humanity greatly appreciates each of you and thanks you for giving your time and talents to finish the landscaping on this home, what a fun group you are and may you return soon. The construction continues on Habitat homes at 8th Place and Ocean in Bay City, we need volunteer’s everyday to help, just call the office 842-7472 to check on the construction schedule and let us know when you are available; if you have not signed up to join in the fun just give us a call.
