Graff Family Story

My name is Jodie Graff. I am a single mother of five year old preschool twins named Brock and Marie. My son Brock suffers with autism and long term health issues. Our current living conditions do not provide a safe or healthy environment for my children. There is no yard or play area provided and habitual drug use is prevalent and a constant worry.

I have lived in Tillamook County for fourteen years. I was employed at McDonalds for nine years and have been employed at U.S. Bank for the past two years. I am currently working at the Rockaway Beach Branch as vault teller.

On behalf of myself and my children I wish to thank everyone involved in the Habitat for Humanity Program. Our family has been selected to own one of the wonderful new homes and our heart-felt dreams will become a reality this year. We are excited about placing roots in Bay City and becoming long-time residents of the community. Our Habitat home will provide security and contentment for my children; owning our home will provide more independence, security and a safe place for my children to grow and prosper.

This year the children are finding new and exciting activities; Marie is taking ballet this year from Oregon Coast Dance Center and taking up the challenge of soccer at the YMCA. Marie also has a dream of having her own white kitten named Princess; I hope to make that dream come true for her. Brock has the typical interests of a boy and likes to ride his bike and play outdoors.

I love working with Habitat and all the wonderful volunteers in fundraising events and projects and look forward to learning and working in the different construction phases participating in the dream of owning our new home a reality. I have been volunteering with Habitat for Humanity since 2001, helping others to realize their dreams of a safe place to raise their children. Construction on our new home has begun and will be finished in the fall. I look forward to being able to walk in the door of our new home and know that it will provide a safe and secure place for my children and me for years to come. Dreams do come true and prayers are answered we are grateful for all God’s blessings.

Thank you for supporting Habitat for Humanity and helping to build our new home and homes of other families in need.
